An alternative adapter option for the 7.3 diesel to the commercial T-444E adapter is to purchase an aftermarket adapter and flexplate from Destroked. This is a “clean” option that adapts the Chevy bellhousing to the 7.3, and likely offers the shortest overall length. The only thing I do not like about these is the flexplate is rather stiff and could be a contributing factor to potential torque converter cracks where the pump drive tube is welded to the converter shell. I have a couple customers that have used them so far. There is at least one other option out there that I do not mention because they use a very thick flywheel that has no flex engineered into it at all, which could likely cause premature Allison pump failure.
