The 8.1 “stand alone” system was made famous by a large thread on the 4bt swaps forum.  It was pioneer stuff – no disrespect intended.  There are several reasons I wouldn’t recommend it, but for some who want to save some money, do it themselves, have fairly low old school 12 valve power, and aren’t too picky it may work fine.

Attached is a full flash A40 8.1 calibration that you can use to reflash an A40 Duramax TCM with EFI Live, and a program for a 5150v5 Velocio PLC that converts an analog tps signal to the PWM managed and unmanaged torque signals.

The Velocio PLC makes a little better signal than the CAT PWM TPS, but it still limits the max TP% out to 69%.  It also has code to control a reverse light relay, using two shared signals from the IMS sensor.

Replies or questions on this topic will not be answered by me, because I won’t take the time to support this system.  If you need help go to the 4bt swaps thread.
